Oh, how I love Lush!

Okay. Hands down the BEST idea ever. It's cheap, it's pretty, it's a great idea, it's girly, and it smells good! The best ingredients to an amazing product! I watch allthatglitters21 and her Lush hauls and recommendations and they are my favorite videos to watch out of the MANY videos she does. Anyway, that is beside the point. She has such great advice on makeup products so I highly suggest you go over to her Youtube channel! Anyway, I love Lush. You walk in, and you immediately get a rush of this sweet aroma of honey, chocolate, fruity, sweet, and floral. Amaaaazing. So, I was going shopping for a couple of my girlfriend's birthdays (I am awful at giving people presents. No, not getting but GIVING! I am good at getting people gifts, but then somehow I never have time to give people presents! I still need to give one of my friends a present whose birthday was in June!! Early June! Yeahhhhhh kind of silly. SO! I went into Anthropology and bought my friend a mug that has her name on it and I am planning on filling it with candy and a letter. And then! I went to Lush. Probably my all time favorite store. It is cheap (some of it) and it is related to beauty related products. Soooooo nice! So I bought a bubble bar, a bath bomb, and a massage bar for her.

Comforter Bubble Bar: This fruity bubble bar gives the feeling of being hugged by a jolly blackcurrant. When life is getting you down, crumble The Comforter under hot, running water for purple water and creamy bubbles. It was created to bring a real sense of comfort to people, just like a real comforter (or scarf) would. The warm aroma of cassis absolute is so relaxing that you'll go to bed feeling happier and the world will seem brighter the next day. Cypress oil is almost colourless and has a fresh woody aroma. It is astringent, deodorant, toning and antiseptic oil.
*That is what the website says and I love the explanation! I feel like now I am going to have to buy a billion of these for myself, plus my friends! Of course, I am going to go back and buy these products for myself! When I get the money lol. Anyway, this would be a perfect remedy in the winter when you are cold (because where I live it is very very cold in the winters!) or if you had a terrible day and need to relax, maybe during finals at school because that is the most stressful time of the year for me, or if you are really sick because I always get super bad colds, and they last for SO long and so this would be awesome to just relax and get rid of my cold! or maybe just chilling out! Perfect remedy :)

Honey Bee Bath Bomb: Honey Bee smells like caramel, much like the Honey, I Washed The Kids soap and Soft Coeur massage bar do. Honey Bee holds its own special distinction, though; in addition to soothing honey, it has Moroccan rhassoul mud to clean and soften your skin. When Noriko came up with Honey Bee, it began its life with wings. Unfortunately, the nightmare of having to hand decorate each one put an end to that idea. Now, it's decorated with a stripe of mud and looks just like a bee. Honey naturally moisturizes and softens as you soak in the caramel coloured waters.
*  This smells AMAZING! I love the smell of honey and on my wishlist at Lush is this bath bomb and Honey I washed the Kids soap because apparently they smell alike. But I love how this moisturizes and makes your skin soft because it's a cool idea! I love how it is natural because it makes it seem like you can whip it up in your kitchen! But, this smells exactly what it says, honey and caramel!

Mange Too Massage Bar: The most magnificently delicious thing about Mange Too is the fact that you can eat it. After many requests to create an edible massage bar, our inventors went straight into the lab to have fun with it.After Helen and Simon's tireless efforts on formulating flavours, Mange Too was given the same flavour and scent as our beautiful Honey Trap lip balm, because we wanted an irresistible and sensual tactile experience. Both bananas and honey are emollient and highly moisturizing, when applied topically. They soften the skin, making it flexible and pliable. Peppermint is soothing and is a subtle part of the flavour. It makes the skin tingle.
* So, this isn't the best explanation. I mean it iis moisturising and has an "irresistable and sensual tactile experience" :) But, I don't smell any banana's or pepermint. I also have never tried the Honey Trap lip balm. I also would probably never eat this. It kind of sound yucky: banana + honey= a delicious treat? nah. But what it does smell like is a delicious white chocolate mixed with honey and a warm scent that I can't put my finger (or nose?) on. Also, it is sooo moisturizing. The woman who helped me (super super nice! Just like everyone else! Seriously, it was like I was talking to my best friend!) anyway, she helped me pick things out for my friend (I know there are gift boxes but I wanted to pick things out personally.) And so, she put it on my arm around 12:00 lunch time and my arm still smells amazing! And it is sooo moisturizing and soothing! YAY!

Oh My Goodness!

So, today I went to the mall... YAY! I love going to my mall because it is just a fun environment and there are a bunch of awesome stores! Including Sephora, Lush, and Papaya ( A new store to me that has awesome, cheap, cute, and actually substantial clothing, not like Forever 21 that breaks or rips two days after you buy it! No, I'm not saying I don't like Forever 21, I am just saying there could be better stores! I mean, the quality isn't spectacular and recently, the styles haven't really been the cutest I have seen. Sure, some little tid bits are cute, but some of the outfits they have on the mannequins or on the websites are the outfits that you look at and think "Who would ever EVER wear that in public?"

Yeah, so I turned my fashion sense over to Papaya! It is soooo cheap! I bought such a CUTE long tunic shirt for only $12.00 and THEN I bought a romper for only $9.00! Great fabric, super cute, and a romper! I also bought another one! I think they were on sale, but they are still really cheap!  Here are some pictures:

I love love love rompers. Yes, I am a curvy girl and I don't look good in every single romper, but it is such a great concept! It is just one outfit and you add shoes, makeup, and maybe some earrings and you're done! I always take so long to make up an outfit! I always want to look my best, and every time I want to pick out a cute outfit, I always seem to find nothing in my closet full of clothes! It is kind of silly, I think it's because I don't want to repeat a lot. I mean, I have a bunch of clothes and cute outfits, but I use them over and over and I like to change things up a bit! Really, I am being silly, but aren't we all silly? So, really that ends my point. So back to this beautiful romper to my left, or my computer's left. I think it is super duper cute. I love the ruffels because it's girly, but then when you get the high waisted khaki shorts is kind of that Ralph Lauren look that kind of looks like a classic, boy-ish look :)

So, over here I think this is just an over all girly, cute outfit. So much jewelry and accessories I can add to this! So excited! Also, I did get this in blue, but I couldn't get the picture from the website. But I love this because it is really casual and that is me. Casual and cute. I mean, I don't have any place to go to be dressy daily. I wear a school uniform, and then I really go dressy either at church (for my boyfriend's sake lol) and if we are going out to dinner or a party or all that jazz. But, we really don't go out that often. Maybe a couple times every few months, but other than that not really because apparently we are in something called a recession! But enough of that nonsense! The main moral of this blog is I like shopping.

Ok, now I just read it over again and I realized I forgot the main thing I wanted to include in the blog and that was me going to Lush and buying a few things....... and I didn't mention one bit! Well, I guess I'll talk about that later!

Decision Time

So, I have realized that my blog isn't that consistent so I am just going to make a beauty blog. So far, my favorite blog to write was the makeup one... so, technically the last few blogs were test runs to see which subject I want to write about and it is going to be beauty! So, hair, makeup, body products, clothes, and girly-ness : )

This is probably one of the shortest blogs I will ever have because I love love love talking and writing and just making noise :) I would say that I am a mix of outgoing and shy person. When I first meet someone, I can't really tell how I am going to act. Maybe I will shine out and be a charm or maybe I will be a little shy (especially around boys!) That is kind of weird but whatever. It's in my genes! Or my DNA? Or just my personality :)

Wake me up when September starts!

So, I am going to start school soon and I am very excited! I start at the end of August, close to when September starts. I have orientation on the 25 and then my first week ends on the 2nd of September! I am going to be a sophomore in high school! OH YEAH! I am not gonna be a freshman anymore. That is going to feel really great because I won't be the low man on the totem pole!
So, for the rest of my summer I am going to just embrace the moment and enjoy it while it lasts. I recently started playing the piano, I took piano lessons when I was in fourth grade but then I stopped because I took up guitar and I recently had the inspiration to do both! Every year, I have a Christmas recital and I ALWAYS MESS UP! No matter how much I practice! No matter how easy the song, nerves always always come to me. I shake naturally, but add my nervousness, well I am like a human earthquake! And, so one year I messed up really badly playing Greensleeves on the guitar (finger picking) and I was really upset and then a boy my age started playing the guitar and singing. It was beautiful! He played the guitar and when he was all finished, he moved to the piano! And I thought that was so cool! So, he was my inspiration. So, I recently, like a couple weeks ago, started piano, and I know how to play Heart and Soul by myself, Bad Day by Daniel Powter, and Wake Me Up When September Ends! I JUST finished learning that. Like a couple days ago! I LOVE LOVE LOVE GREENDAY! I went to their concert and oh my goodness by the end of the night my voice was lost because I WAS SCREAMING THE WHOLE TIME! So awesome! But anyway, I know mostly all there songs on guitar and now I am learning them on piano! YAY!

Makeup

So, it is raining today... and I decided to play with my makeup. I have a large makeup collection in my opinion. Not as large as Elle Fowler, allthatglitters21, or Blaire Fowler, juicystar07, from youtube but for me, I do. I tend to buy things that I probably don't need, makeup wise. Yes, I am so much better now and I think I am more frugal but, I still want to try to use most of it and experiment! So, this morning I painted my nails with Essie Nail Polish, Turquoise and Caicos and this is what it looks like:

That is what the color looks like, and also a perfect manicure. Unfortunately those are not my hands, those are some hands of a person, man or woman we can never know, but I am TERRIBLE at painting my nails. Very very bad. But, I probably need more practice, let's hope. Anyway. After I painted my nails,  I started futzing around with my makeup. I took my coastal scents pallet 88 shimmer palet:

And I used 4 different eye shadows total, 3 on my eye (from the palet) and 1 as a highlight on my cheeks and inner corners of my eye from a drugstore trio. And this is what it looks like (sorry for the bad quality!)

But, yeah I thought it was super pretty! And really easy! And your average neutral eye, but I kind of want this blog also to be a makeup blog partly, so I will start at the beginning :)

So, first, I use Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller under my eyes to wake up my eyes a bit. Afterwards, I use my concealer under my eyes and on my eyelid and then on spots that I should cover up (I don't know the name of it because I got it as a gift and it is just a silver tube.) Then I use my Professionnel All Over Shadow Brush - Small #22 from Sephora and apply J6 only on my lid. After, I mix A3 and B3 together and put it on the crease and outer corner of my eye and then I blend it out. Then, I take the top eyeshadow (kind of looks creamy white-ish) from this eyeshadow trio I got from Target:
And I use that color as a highlight and with my ring finger, I apply a little bit of that on the inside corner of my eyes (the tear duct I think it is called) and I also put a little on my brow bone right beneath your eyebrow and I also put a little on my cheek bones to add a little sparkle and it looks really good!

Extra:
I also use black eyeliiner on the waterline and if you want on your upper lid but I just put it on my water line this time.
You can curl your eyelashes and apply black mascara.
For lip gloss I used a dark pink with a hint of plum in it because I have green eyes and kind of olive-ish skin and it really makes my eyes pop : )
For blush I use from MAC and it is called Mocha.

I think this is really and I hope you try it out!

My Books/Rambling

So, I am a big reader. I love losing myself throughout the pages of a good book. I think, that half of my imagination wouldn't be as creative without books. When I was younger, (maybe about in 4th grade, 10 or 11 years old) and I would sit down with my mom and we would read Harry Potter together and that would be our bonding time!

So that brings me to another point. I am totally a die-hard Harry Potter fan :) I read the books religiously and watch the movies over and over. You would call it an obsession, I would call it merely a big fantasy. When I was younger, I was disappointed when I didn't get my Hogwarts letter. Yes, of course I know wizardry and that kind of magic is not real, but I can dream!!! For the last movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, I dressed up with my friends. I was a student from the Slytheryn house and my outfit consisted of my green and white skirt (from my school uniform) a collared white shirt, a silver and dark green tie, and dramatic makeup. Yes, it was a crazy idea, but Harry Potter was really a big part of my life. The books made me want to read more books, and probably, maybe I am going a little too far saying this, but I probably wouldn't have liked reading as much without Harry Potter :) Yeah that sounds crazy. But that is me. A little crazy :)

But ANYWAY! I get off topic a lot :) So, I love to read. That is my story :) but here are some of my absolute favorite books:

1. Harry Potter; J.K. Rowling (obviously! the whole series is amazing)
2. The Help; Katheryn Stockett (I recently read this book during the summer and it is so inspiring! And I cannot wait to see the movie!)
3. A Thousand Splendid Suns; Khaled Hosseini (This book was sooooooo good! If you haven't read it, go now to the bookstore!)
4. Jane Eyre; Charlotte Brontë (I read this for school and I thought it was such a great book; nothing like a great romance book)
5. Before I Go To Sleep; S J Watson (So, this book was recommended in the newspaper and I thought it sounded a lot like the movie 50 First Dates, which it was kind of a twist of that movie, and I read the book and it was really great! I could not put the book down after I started, it really grabbed your attention! I don't think it is a really famous book like the others I have mentioned, but it is definitely worth it!)
6. Speak; Laurie Halse Anderson (This book was SO GOOD! Yeah, it is kind of in the genre of younger teenagers and kids but I think it is still a classic; I also love the author, Laurie Halse Anderson, and I have pretty much read all of her books so reading this one was a given!)
7.  The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time; Mark Haddon (This book was an easy, light read but I thought it still had a great plot line)

So, those are a few of my favorite books, because if I were to list all of them, this page would never end. I think most of these books, not all, but most are for young ages, but I still have a lot more time to broaden my taste in books. Here are some books I am planning on reading! Tell me what you think, whoever you are :) and maybe I will do some reviews on them!

1. The Kite Runner; Khaled Hosseini (So, I think A Thousand Splendid Suns was the sequel to this book, but I didn't know that until a couple months ago so I just bought it from Borders! There was a crazy sale at borders because my borders near me is closing!!)
2. The Secret Bride; Diane Haeger (This is about the youngest sister of Henry the VIII and I thought it would be an interesting book to read and I am really excited to read it!)
3. Lipstick in Afghanistan; Roberta Gately (This is about a young girl who lives in Afghanistan who wants to be a nurse and takes part in helping the soldiers in the war. I am really excited to read this!)
4. Three Cups of Tea; Greg Mortenson (This is about a mountain-climber transitioning to a compassionate man who tries to reduce poverty and promoting education for girls. I think this takes place in Afghanistan or Pakistan, I am not sure, but once I read it, I will tell you!)

And that is pretty much what is on my reading schedule for the rest of the summer!

My Music

So, I have a very peculiar taste in music. I love all different types of music (except country!). I like to think I have a broad liking of music (if that makes sense). I love love love Indy Rock/Folk! I think that is my FAVORITE type of music. A weird fact about me is that I also love scream and heavy metal music. I don't actually like to hear the beat and such, but it gets me to sleep. WHAT!? I do not know why, but being an insomniac (a person who has difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep) heavy metal and rock-type music gets me to sleep. A heavy, sound sleep. You would think it would be the opposite, but nothing is normal in my life. Everything is somewhat different :)

Some of my favorite bands/singers are:

1. The Smiths
2. Paramore
3. Regina Spektor
4. James Vincent McMorrow
5. Mindy Gledhill
6. Death Cab for Cutie
7. Noah and the Whale
8. The Sunbeams
9. Eminem
10. The Muse
11. Kyle Andrews
12. Plain White T's

Yes, that was only a few for me. You can probably tell there is a little of everything in there. Indy, rap, rock, and pop :) But that is what I am. A little of everything :)
